Are you or someone you know suffering from pain, stiffness, or headaches after a car accident? You’ve come to the right place. Below, we’ve put together common questions about how you can receive care to make the process as simple as possible while you get back on your feet.
Will ICBC cover my treatments?
Absolutely. At Okanagan Integrative Health, your approved treatments are covered 100% by your insurance no matter who was at fault. We currently provide direct billing for ICBC chiropractic & kinesiology appointments to take care of the entire reimbursement process for you. Massage at our clinic is not covered by ICBC as our massage specialist is not a registered massage therapist (RMT).
Do I need a referral to receive treatment?
No. To see a chiropractor or kinesiologist you do not need a referral from a primary care physician or approval from an insurance adjuster. Once you have submitted a claim to ICBC, schedule an ICBC Intial Assessment & Treatment to get started with treatment. You can schedule this appointment yourself online here, or you can call to schedule.
How much treatment can I receive?
Coverage for a motor vehicle collision covers a period of 14 weeks, 25 chiropractic treatments, and 12 kinesiology treatments to reach pre-accident status or full medical recovery. In certain instances you can receive more care if it is clinically indicated and your insurance provider allows more treatment.
What are common side effects and injuries of car accidents?
- Muscle Strains
- Ligament Sprains
- Pain & Stiffness
- Sleep Disturbance
- Disc Injury
- Nerve Pain
When should I seek treatment after a car accident?
As soon as possible. Many symptoms start immediately or may take weeks to manifest. The sooner that you are evaulated by a chiropractor, the sooner you can start the process of getting back to 100%.
